I said...

     How many times can a person cram the word "I said," into a sentence? It is ridiculous the number of times a person says "I said," when relating an anecdote or just recalling a casual conversation they had with another. A perfect example of this would be, "'I said, 'Listen,' I said, 'You need to tell him what happened.' I said...I told him...I said, 'This needs to stop.' is what I told him.'" For God's sake! Gimme a freakin break already! The words "I said" can be used once only until you begin to recount the other person's response, and then you say, "(s)he said..." It is friggin annoying, and it seems to be contageous. Please. Stop already. Who said? I said.
